Set the ingest API key the observer must send to post readings. ← Dashboard

Ingest API key

Checking…

This is the shared secret the device sends in the X-API-Key header. It's stored on the server (in data/secrets.php, never in git) and survives deploys.

Next step

After saving, enter the exact same key in the flasher's “API key” field, then Save & reboot the device. The device only starts reporting once its key matches the one saved here.

Observer check-in interval

How often the observer checks the server for a settings change (e.g. a new mirror URL), independent of how often it posts data. The observer picks this up on its own — no USB or re-flash.

Whole minutes, 1 to 1440 (24 h).

Checking observer status…

Audit trail

When enabled, the server logs every request the observer makes (each data post and config check), so you can compare what the observer thinks it sent against what actually arrived. Turn it on only while investigating — it keeps the most recent 300 events.

Firmware updates (OTA)

When enabled, the observer downloads and installs the latest published firmware over WiFi on its next check-in — no USB, no site visit. The image is integrity-checked before install, and if the new firmware can't get healthy the observer automatically rolls back to the previous version. Device settings (WiFi, keys, tracked sensors) are preserved across the update.
